Our Growing Practices:
Thousand Leaf Gardens is a four season vegetable and flower farm managed with respect and devotion in accordance to the totality of nature. Students of biodynamics, we thoughtfully integrate various biodynamic methods alongside traditional organic growing practices as we continue to hone our skills and further our knowledge as ecologically-minded farmers. To avoid soil compaction we have chosen not to use large tractors or implements and work mainly by hand. In doing so, our two person farm has a smaller carbon footprint, healthier soil, less weed pressure and pest issues. Lovers of good food, we grow for flavor. We specialize in salad greens, chicories, interesting heirloom tomatoes, and fresh ginger in addition to cut flowers and culinary herbs.
In 2022 we finally purchased nearly 11 acres in beautiful Gardiner, NY. We are excited to be expanding our operation and are looking forward to what the future holds!
